During a period of fascination with American mass culture, the Italian designers Jonhatan De Pas ( 1932 – 1991 ), Danato Dâ??Urbino ( born 1935 ) and Paolo Lomazzi ( born 1936 ) created this giant leather baseball glove chair.
The Joe armchair, for Poltronova, Montale, Pistoia, manufactured at a later period, moulded polyurethane foam covered with cognac brown leather, with several impressed marks JOE/Made in Italy/Modell P 100
height 95 cm, length 175 cm, depth 100 cm, height of seat 43 cm.
Moulded as a giant baseball glove, this chair is reminiscent of Pop Art sculptures such as by Claes Oldenburg. Named after the baseball legend Joe Di Maggio, a famous baseball player who was married to Marilyn Monroe.
Also known as the 4801 Armchair, the Kartell Joe Colombo Armchair was initially made entirely out of wood (the only piece by Kartell to be so) when it was first released in 1965. With this reissue, the complex and technically challenging engineering methods have finally been developed to produce the design as originally envisioned: in smooth and strong PMMA plastic.
The aqua JOE armchair by Vincent Sheppard will give you an unexpected accent to your interior with its retro look and vintage at once. Its comfort and its rattan structure as to define it, as an essential element for your living room .
